Carobbio is located in the Golden Valley in Panzano in Chianti, between Florence and Siena, in the middle of a natural amphitheater. The estate covers about fifty hectares, among ancient vineyards, olive groves and lush forests. In love with these places that recalled his origins, thirty years ago Carlo Novarese began a project to restore the lands, the vineyards and the cellars to their former glory, surrounding himself with a group of people who, with passion, still carry on his vision. Carobbio combines tradition with the most innovative techniques and cultivates its own vineyards producing important wines, of great vigor and aromatic complexity.
Chianti Classico Docg
Chianti Classico Carobbio is an extremely elegant and refined wine made from a blend of two marvelous grape varieties: Sangiovese (95%) and Merlot (5%). It is aged in large barrels for 12-14 months. Due to its excellent drinkability and intense overtones of red fruits, this wine expresses the best characteristics of this unique territory.
Perfect in any season, it is excellent served with first course dishes, salamis and roast meats.
Chianti Classico Riserva Docg
Chianti Classico Riserva Carobbio is the result of a precise, scrupulous selection of our best Sangiovese grapes. Aged for 18 months in French oak barriques, it is a well-balanced, robust wine. It stands out for its personality, depth, and its pleasant and well integrated fruity and spicy notes.
Due to its body, tannins, and harmonious structure, it is ideal served with roasted or grilled meats and aged cheese.
Pietraforte Cabernet Sauvignon Igt
This Cabernet Sauvignon is renowned for its full-bodied flavor. Its grapes, which come from the mature vines of the Pesa vineyard, are the result of a careful limited production. It is aged in barriques for 22 months and then in bottles for 7-8 more months.
This profound wine with elegant aromas of black currants and citron is excellent served with braised meats and aged cheese.
Leone Sangiovese Igt
This refined, full-bodied, pure Sangiovese is solely made from grapes of the Vascone Vineyard. It is aged in French oak barriques for 18-20 months and then in bottles for at least 6 months. A wine of this texture and structure acquires adequate elegance through its aroma and flavor.
It is excellent served with white and red meats, soups, and cheese
Magaldo Rosso Toscana Igt
Magaldo (from The Florentine merchants family of the Magaldi) was the owner of Carobbio in the fifteenth century, before the estate was sold to Antonmaria Gherardini, the father of Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Monna Lisa.
A lively, complex, rich and enveloping wine presents an impenetrable color. The nose gives hints of black cherry, berries and chocolate.
Piluka Pinot Bianco Igt
Piluka (or Pilucha) was Filippo Cinegli’s nickname, a Carobbio peasant of the fifteenth century.
This wine pays tribute to those who have cultivated these lands with passion since the beginning.
Elegant wine with a lively acidity and a fresh finish, it has notes of green apple combined with floral hints of acacia and hawthorn.
Rosato Terra Rossa Igt
Obtained through the soft pressing of whole Sangiovese grapes, Terra Rossa Rosato Carobbio is a modern wine with great olfactive impact. Rich in tropical overtones combined with notes of wild strawberries, it is much appreciated for its delightful taste that elegantly caresses the palate.
This wine is excellent served with typical Tuscan snacks.
Vin Santo Del Chianti Classico Occhio Di Pernice Doc
Produced following a tradition of a thousand years, Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Occhio di Pernice is the result of a skillful drying procedure involving Sangiovese, Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes. After pressing, which takes place in December, the must ferments in small wood half-barriques. The wine obtained matures on what is called the “mother” for at least four years. Its intense aroma brings to mind honey, walnuts, and raisins.
A classic meditation wine, its characteristics are enhanced when served with Tuscan “cantucci” biscotti and with herbed cheese.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil 100% Italiano
Obtained through cold pressing and extraction under a controlled nitrogen atmosphere, this extra-virgin olive oil exclusively comes from olives hand-picked in our olive groves. Made from a blend of the most popular and typical local olive varieties such as leccino, frantoio and moraiolo, its flavor is elegant and persistent.
Excellent as a condiment for roast meats, mixed salads, and fish, its aroma emerges in all of its glory when served on “fettunta”, which is another name for “bruschetta”.
